Backup and restore

PorchIQ backs up its own data every night, and whenever you tap Back up now. A backup includes favorites, dashboard choices, notification settings, automations, vehicles, animal watch, 3D scans, room photos, API keys, logs, Matter pairings and the house connections. Camera clips stay with your camera system and aren't included.

• Encrypted. Every backup is encrypted with your recovery key (it looks like HOMEAI-XXXX-XXXX-…). Save it in your password manager. If the server is lost, the backups can't be opened without it, by you or anyone else.
• Second copy. Choose a folder that isn't on the server's own disk, such as a cloud drive folder, an external drive or a network drive. Each backup is copied there too.
• Restore. Pick a saved backup and choose Restore. Favorites, dashboard choices, photos, scans and keys go back to that point; house connections stay as they are now. PorchIQ makes a safety backup of the current state first, so a restore can itself be undone.
